Join us for an exclusive workshop performance of “and Joseph” on Saturday, November 15 at 3:00 pm. This special presentation offers a first look at the new one-actor soulful comedy before its full premiere. Audiences will experience the play in its raw, evolving form and may be invited to share feedback that shapes its future. The play is one act and runs about 75 minutes.

A workshop performance is an early public showing of a play that’s still in development. It’s a chance for the writer, director, and actors to test the material—usually with minimal sets, costumes, and technical elements—while gathering audience reactions before a full production. The focus is on the story, characters, and pacing, not polished production value. Think of it as part performance, part experiment, and part sneak peek into the creative process.

About the Play

“and Joseph” is a one-actor soulful comedy that dares to reimagine the life of history’s most overlooked supporting character. After Mary and Jesus ascend to divine fame, Joseph—carpenter, stepfather, and eternal footnote—finds himself left behind in the shadows of scripture. With biting wit, heartfelt confessions, and hilariously awkward storytelling, he finally takes center stage to share the story you didn’t get in Sunday school.

Equal parts satirical and tender, “and Joseph” explores what it means to raise a child who belongs to the world, to love without recognition, and to search for purpose when history has already written you out. Think Fleabag meets Waiting for Guffman—with biblical robes, carpentry jokes, and one very judgmental donkey.

At once funny, raw, and redemptive, “and Joseph” gives voice to the silent saint, reminding us that even those left out of the spotlight shape the story in ways that matter most.
